The blinds are forced bets posted by the two players left of the dealer button before cards are dealt. They set the minimum action size for that hand and rotate each round.

Community cards are the five shared cards the dealer places face-up on the table — the flop (three), the turn (one) and the river (one). All seated players use them to build their hand.

A check-raise is when a player first checks their action, then raises after an opponent bets in the same round. It signals hand strength or is used as a bluff to build the pot.

Pot odds are the ratio of the current pot size to the cost of a call. They help you decide whether calling a bet is mathematically worth it based on your chance of completing a hand.

A side pot forms when one player goes all-in but others have more chips. The all-in player contests only the main pot; remaining chips are contested in the separate side pot between active players.

Showdown is the final stage where remaining players reveal their hole cards after all betting rounds end. The player with the strongest five-card combination using any available cards wins the pot.
